Testimonials

Big Beautiful Sober Life is more than a program. It’s a transformative experience.

But don’t just take our word for it.

Hear how this values-driven, skill-building approach is helping clients grow, heal, and step confidently into life beyond treatment.

“The majority of the clients in our program don’t have a natural trajectory to enter or re-enter the workforce after treatment. Many haven’t graduated high school or had gainful, legitimate employment before coming here. Using drugs goes hand-in-hand with selling drugs or doing other illegal activities to get by. Some people make good money doing that for a while and, when that inevitably crashes, have a lot of catching up to do. They now have legal histories that will often disqualify them from getting jobs. They have gaps on their resumes. They have a whole mountain of barriers to face to enter the workforce. That doesn’t even touch on the difficulties of addiction, itself. These all become stressors that keep clients stuck and increase the likelihood that these individuals revert back to drugs, winding up in the same destructive cycle: in and out of rehab, back on the streets, falling into old patterns.

When you are a client in an addiction treatment facility working with a career-focused facilitator, especially if it is somebody with personal experience overcoming those same challenges, they can offer you pathways toward a career, despite all of these obstacles. Sometimes, you’ll find that your challenges and experiences overcoming them have become the exact strengths that make you a valuable asset in the working world. So when a treatment center has facilitators that specialize in career readiness – helping clients nail down their skillset, teaching them how to communicate their strengths, working with them to identify realistic career goals, empowering them to believe in their ability and capability – it is providing a way out of the destructive cycle and allowing them to move forward in their lives beyond treatment.”

“Sarah’s work with our clients at West LA Recovery is like sliding in that last missing puzzle piece.  Many of our clients are rebuilding their personal vision and purpose in recovery but struggle to translate that to practical real world skills.  Sarah reduces employment anxiety, builds individual confidence, and expands our clients’ vision for their potential.”
